Hello, I am Somi. You can call me Som!

I'm Somi Jang, an Animation undergrad with a concentration in Technical Animation  at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Aside from animation, I have experience in working with traditional art medium such as oil paint, acrylic, watercolor, graphite, pastel, ink, and charcoal. As the world continues to diverge into innumerable identities amid the emergence of newfound cultures, I believe that Art is a universal language that intertwines unique ideas indescribable to our tongues.

 

My nickname "Som" comes from the Korean word "솜," which translates to "cotton."Although seemingly fragile and trivial, cotton is widely used across the globe--its softness embraces people as blankets, pillows, and clothing. Likewise, I am vastly interested in utilizing my art to pave a way for the linkage between divergent perspectives across the globe. Enthralled by the artistry of communicating my ideas to life, I strive to be a part of the animation industry and cozily connect the gaping aperture between people, cultures, and environments.
